Well done Nick for landing your first salmon today on Taymount. We had a clonking take in finford head and a 30 min battle began. After long runs and tumbles a 19lb long tailed licer was landed. A stunning salmon and a cracker for your first. Well done Nick and I hope it's just the first of many. Also pictured is Nicks partner Rosie who is just as delighted. Tight lines.
Taymount is one of the most legendary beats on the River Tay. The water is very varied and has excellent streamy water, ideal for flyfishing in all but the biggest spates. There are also deeper runs and pools where salmon hold up in all waters. There is always a chance of fish on Taymount regardless of conditions, but a rise in the water offers the best opportunities of all.

2 spring beauties from finford head
Jonathan Burchell landed his second fish of the week yesterday in finford head. The 13lber put up a tremendous fight and tested Jonathan's nerve. Gail Jones landed her first Taymount springer yesterday in the same pool. At 10lb it was matted in long tailed lice. Both fish were hooked on vision 110s.
